Amherst Yoga Studio
About me
Hello and thank you for reading this!
I’m Kathy MacKinnon, a Certified Yoga Therapist, C-IAYT, 800hr professional yoga therapist through the Kripalu School of Integrative Yoga, a 200YTT, Yogyam Yoga Instructor, and have a Level 2 Reiki.
I first experienced yoga as an awkward 13yr old and knew this was something I could do. Growing up in Sydney , Nova Scotia, Canada, yoga wasn’t very popular.
After leaving my career in education, I started Amherst Yoga Studio in 2015 and love sharing this practice with you.
I’ve been a life long yoga student and am passionate on empowering you to take care of your health. My classes are ideal for ages, 18yrs+ and all abilities. I encourage you to move while listening to your body and breath. You have FreedOM to breathe and be. Let this yoga journey be one of many as you experience health, well being and joy.
Nanaste,
Kathy

Yoga therapy can help people who can't move at all, as well as active individuals, address pain, major illness, neurologic issues, healthy aging, and mental health.
The yoga model of health is unique because it addresses every aspect of life rather than considering each body part or system separately.
